Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure is the world's largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists fighting to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find the cures. Thanks to events like the Komen National Race, nearly $1 billion has been invested to fulfill their promise, becoming the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer in the world.

A minimum of $1 million from the Komen National Race net proceeds remains
in the metropolitan Washington, D.C., community - including Virginia
and Maryland - to provide funding for breast health and breast cancer education, screening and treatment programs for the medically undeserved.
Washington, D.C., has the highest breast cancer mortality rate in the United States.

About the Project

You can choose to either walk with us or volunteer with us at the tent of one of the Sponsors. To volunteer at the tent, please sign up to the right. If you would like to walk with us or make a pledge, please follow the directions below.

     We are participating in the Susan G. Komen National Race for the Cure. As part of the Race, we have created our own Personal Pledge Page where you can make a pledge of $25, $50, $100 or any amount. Simply click here or you can visit www.nationalraceforthecure.org. Click Registration, then Pledge, then Pledge to a Team, (left side) and search for MEL Mashindo Events LLC.
